There are many good reasons to think about purchasing an electrified car these days, but which type is right for you? We offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric cars at Hall | MileOne Autogroup, and we'll help you figure out which kind best fits your lifestyle and driving needs.
Hybrid Cars
A hybrid car uses a combination of electric power and gasoline to get you moving. This allows you to get better fuel economy than you would in a typical gasoline-powered vehicle. You don't have to do anything to charge up a hybrid yourself. It usually recharges through regenerative braking or another method.
Most hybrids are based on already existing models. For example, there are hybrid versions of the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry available.
PHEV
A PHEV is a plug-in hybrid. It works much like the hybrid cars mentioned above, but it can be plugged in to recharge its battery pack. A plug-in hybrid also tends to offer an all-electric range. It can travel for short distances on battery power alone, and then you can plug it right back in to recharge once you get home. Obviously this makes PHEVs a great choice for drivers looking to reduce their gasoline dependency.
Electric Cars
Though if you really want to avoid gas stations entirely, you need to go with an electric car. A model like the 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 doesn't require an ounce of gasoline. It's powered by electric motors and a battery pack, and it can be plugged back in to recharge just like a PHEV.
