You likely already know that buying a used car instead of a new one is a great way to save money. However, if you’re concerned about the quality of used cars, consider purchasing from a Certified Pre-Owned, or CPO, inventory. If you’re new to CPO, these cars give you the best of both worlds (lower price than new cars, higher quality, and better reliability than most used cars).
Every Hall | MileOne Autogroup dealership has an inventory of Certified Pre-Owned cars, and we would like to share the benefits of buying one.
Only Vehicles in Best-Condition Qualify
Though every car manufacturer has its own CPO eligibility requirements, they require that only late-model, low-mileage vehicles with clean vehicle history reports are accepted into the CPO program. If a vehicle does not meet strict criteria, it is not accepted into the CPO program.
Multi-Point Inspection and Reconditioning
In general, a CPO vehicle must pass a multi-point inspection consisting of 100 to 200 individual item checks before becoming approved. It is reconditioned to meet manufacturer specifications and sets itself apart from regular used cars in this way.
Extended Warranty
Most CPO programs extend both the original basic and original powertrain warranty on a vehicle. Typically, the automakers that provide shorter-term time and mileage limits for the original new car warranty are likely to extend their CPO programs by significant amounts in an effort to be competitive.
Roadside Assistance
Most CPO programs also include complimentary roadside assistance for a period of time after purchase. This can include services such as tire changes, towing, and jump-starts.
